Summary
The author presents a complementary description of Heliconia tarumaensis Barreiros, a common and very beautiful amazonian plant presently cultivated as an ornamental at the INPA campus. It is found native In wet forests near the "igarapés" around Manaus, generally on sandy soils. An illustration showing the principal characters of the species is also provided.
