SUMMARY
Twenty three wood samples from the, forest of the area of the installation of the Hydroelectric of Balbina, Amazonas were carbonized in brick Kilns. The density οf a the wood sample was 0,75 ton/m and humidety was ranging between 25 and 35%. The analysis of the charcoal included friability, density, porosity, heat value, humitity, volatiles, ash and fixed carbon. It was concluded to be possible to obtain a charcool of good qualities from the wood ofa the Hydroelectric.
