Description of Syndyas amazonica SP.N. And the first record of the genus in the Neotropical region (Diptera, Empididae, Hybotinae)

One amazonian species of Syndyas is described and illustrated: Syndyas amazonica sp.n.. This is a first geographical record of the genus in the Neotropical Region.
