"Tinea Nigra" no Amazonas

Summary

The Authors describe a case of Tinea Nigra, located on a plane hemagioma, on the right hand palm of a patient who, at the same time was suffering from alimentary Estrophola. Altough this may not be first observation of this skin disease in the State of Amazonas, it is however, the first case description, accompanied by the systematical identification of the etiological agent. The fungus, isolated through Sabouruad-dextrose-agar, is classified by the Authors as being Pullularia wernecki (Horta) de Vries.
