Euterpe espiritosantensis Fernandes is described and illustrated from collections in the municipality of Santa Teresa, state of Espírito Santo, as compared with Euterpe edulis Martius, a widespread species of eastern Brazil forests, to which is related. Considerations about common names, fenology, ocurrence, habitat, uses and conservation are made.
