Lichenized fungi genera from the mangroves of South and Southestern Brazil, with emphasis on the Itanhaém River mangrove, São Paulo State

(Lichenized fungi genera from the mangroves of South and Southestern Brazil, with emphasis on the Itanhaém River mangrove, São Paulo State). An inventory of the lichenized fungi genera at the Itanhaém River mangrove was done to update the identification status of the known genera. The only known list for southern and southeastern Brazilian mangroves was published by Marcelli in 1992. Special attention was given to the Itanhaém River, and many of the known genera had their taxonomic positions revised; many have also been split into other genera over the past few years. The purpose of this research a new inventory of lichenized fungi genera of the Itanhaém River mangrove, also known from other mangrove regions of southern and southeastern Brazil, and present an identification key for the genera found in this important tropical vegetation type. Also, descriptions and observations of 81 lichenized fungi genera, reported by Marcelli, are presented here for the first time in Portuguese, updated using recent bibliography.
