EDITORIAL
2011, 2012 and SBD's centennial year
The year 2011 is coming to an end. During this year we have achieved much; among our achievements is the impact factor increase, although still modest. We hope, nevertheless, that with continuous and hard work this increase will be progressive and more significant as soon as next year. The number of articles received has grown, which is evidence of the interest of national and international authors in our journal. The ABD inclusion in the ranking with other magazines has also shown increase, as we are ahead of other publications already consolidated and indexed for Medline for several years.
For 2012, we have news that will please many associates: we have endeavored to keep the printed journal in its current form, that is, in Portuguese. In order to do that we have made arrangements for the electronic English version to be the only one indexed for Pubmed/Medline. Consequently, the electronic submission will remain unchanged, that is, in both English and Portuguese for the national authors.
We are very pleased to announce that one of the present focal points of the editorial team, which has demanded much effort from all those involved in ABD publishing is the preparation of the special section celebrating SBD's centennial. This special edition, filled with good surprises in honor of one century of Brazilian dermatology as an institution, will be distributed at the beginning of the year to every one of the associates. We hope it will be enjoyed by all.
Finally, to the ABD team, to SBD employees and associates and especially to our collaborators and assiduous readers: a Merry Christmas and may 2012 bring you much joy.
