    “Conjuntivites”
    Desde as mais simples até as mais complexas, as conjuntivites são um achado freqüente nos consultórios, ambulatórios e pronto-socorros. O desenvolvimento de resistência bacteriana e o aparecimento de novas afecções, como a Febre Purpúrica Brasileira, mostram a importância e a necessidade desta revisão. Ainda, a manifestação da conjuntivite como primeiro sinal de uma doença sistêmica coloca o oftalmologista no importante papel de reconhecimento e tratamento precoce de tais doenças. São aqui discutidos os mais comuns e os novos agentes etiológicos conhecidos das conjuntivites, assim como as suas diferentes formas de apresentação clínica. Também apresenta-se uma revisão no diagnóstico e tratamento.
