Tratamento prévio com colírio de aspirina na trabeculoplastia com laser de argônio

RESUMO

Trinta e dois olhos com glaucoma de ângulo aberto foram submetidos à trabeculoplastia com laser de argônio. Dezesseis olhos receberam pré-tratamento com colírio de aspirina 0,5% e 16 com placebo. A pressão intra-ocular foi avaliada 1,2,4 e 24 horas após a trabeculoplastia. No presente trabalho confirmou-se a elevação da pressão intraocular que se segue à aplicação do laser. A hipertensão se mostrou mais freqüente no período de 1 a 2 horas após o tratamento. Nos olhos tratados com aspirina, as elevações tensionais severas tenderam a ser mais freqüentes (50%) que no grupo-controle (25%). O mecanismo etiopatogenético é discutido.

SUMMARY

Thirty-twoeyeswith open angle glaucoma received argon laser trabeculoplasty. Sixteen eyes were pretreatead with topical 0.5% aspirin and sixteen eyes received placebo. The intraocular pressure was evaluated 1,2, 4 and 24 hours following trabeculoplasty. The ocular hypertension following laser trabeculoplasty was confirmed and it was more prevalent 1 to 2 hours after treatment. The more conspicous intraocular pressure rises tended to be more prevalent in the aspirin treated eyes (50%) than in the control group (25%). The etiopathogenetic mechanism is discussed.
