SUMMARY
We investigated the use of eye glasses and contact lenses by students and employees of a Brazilian university, between 18 and 39 years old.
The results showed that 49.5% of the employees and 56.7% of the students wore corrective lenses; 76.6% of the employees and 71.7% of the students wore eyeglasses while 23.4% and 28.3% respectively, wore contact lenses. Among employees and students who wore eyeglasses, 41.6% and 33.9%, respectively, would like to change to contact lenses.
