Treatment of exodeviations with minus lenses

RESUMO

Os autores descrevem o uso de lentes negativas de 3,00 D no tratamento do exodesvio de crianças com menos de 12 anos. Obtiveram resultado excelente ou bom em 82,1% dos pacientes. Aconselham o uso das lentes negativas em qualquer tipo de exodesvio em criança para produzir ou melhorar o alinhamento dos olhos e favorecer o desenvolvimento e/ou o aperfeiçoamento da visão binocular normal.

SUMMARY

The authors describe the use of negative lenses of 3.00 D in the treatment of exodeviation in children with 12 years or less. They had an excellent or good result in 82,1% of patients. They advise the usage of negative lenses in any kind of children's exodeviation in order to produce or improve the alignment of the eyes, which favors the development and/or strengthening of normal binocular vision.
