Frequency on congenital nasolacrimal duct obstruction at the Department of Pediatrics of Santa Casa Central Hospital

SUMMARY

One hundred and twelve patients with age varying from 15 days to 3 months underwent ophthalmologic examination in order to establish the occurrence of symptomatic congenital nasolacrimal duct obstruction. Three cases were diagnosed, 2 of these with unilateral and 1 with bilateral obstruction, corresponding to an incidence of 2.7%.
