SUMMARY
Purpose:
To describe, step by step, basic instructions on polishing andfinishing rigid gas permeable (RGP) contact lenses.
Methods:
Using a modification unit, trained people may appropriately polish surfaces of RGP contact lenses, modify their edges, diameter, peripheral curves and thickness, and change their optical power.
Conclusions:
These procedures may improve the comfort and the adaptation conditions patients have, either restoring the quality of damaged lenses or increasing their lifetime.
