This paper deals with some ecological and bionomical aspects of "saúvas" (parasol ants) colected in the Western region of the State of São Paulo, Brazil. The following species were studied: Atta sexdehs rubropilosa Forel, 1908, A. laevigata (F. Smith, 1858), and A. capiguara Gonçalves, 1944.
