THERE IS NO NEUROSIS WITHOUT BODY: A STUDY ABOUT THE BODY IN HYSTERIA AND OBSESSIONAL NEUROSIS

Abstract:

The body is the starting point of this article because it has a privileged place in psychoanalysis from studies on hysteria in Freud to the concept of jouissance in Lacan. Investigating the body, we find the subject, both hysterical and obsessive neurotic. From the relation between the neurosis and the body, it was possible to verify that the body is at the origin of the psychosexual development and, therefore, of the clinical structures, but at the same time the place where the neurotic symptoms are manifested.

Keywords:
body; obsessional neurosis; hysteria; psychoanalysis
