The primat of the other in psychoanalysis practice: Jean Laplanche contributions

Abstract:

Laplanche brought up important contributions to the psychoanalytical theory. When rereading the Freudian texts, the author brings back the seduction scene, now as the mark of the intersubjective relationship present in the psychic constitution of every human being, asymmetric par excellence, between a seducer and a seduced one. The article’s aim is to discuss implications of his theory conceptions in the psychoanalytical method, which consists in a revival of the enigmatic and a restoring of the original seduction, resulting in new constructions. In this model, the transference is seen not as a resistance to be broken but as a reopening of the original.
