This article develops the issue of diagnosis in psychoanalysis based on research work done on this subject. After dealing with the very conception of research in psychoanalysis, we settle the concept of structure, as formulated by Lacan, in the core of the discussion. Finally, we present a clinical case formulated in order to situate better the relation between phenomenon and structure.
