ABSTRACT
The authors describe five clinicai ocurrences of four different cases of intestinal obstructive processes in bullfrog (Rana catesbeiana SHAW, 1802) from frog farms in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. This is the first communication about these patologic processes. They also report on intestinal obstructive process due to strange bodies; two cases of intestinal invagination, dueto incorrect feed management and mycotoxicosi; stenosis; and external comprension of bowel by spawn production. Ali observations were post-mortem, and four ocurrences showed high mortality. The clinicai signals in cases of strange bodies, invaginations and stenosis were apathy, lost of appetite, emaciation and reduced growth rate. One case of invagination expressed nervous symptomatology by toxemia. In the comprension by spawn/ovary there was no clinicai signal. They also comment on the histories, clinicai signals, the anatomo-pathologic lesions and the probable causes.
