LEVELS OF ORGANIC FERTILIZATION IN THE PRODUCTION OF MARIGOLDS AND ASSOCIATED ARTHROPODS

ABSTRACT

The effect of 4 levels of organic fertilization (0, 3, 6 and 9 kg/m2) in the production to marigolds ( Calendula officinalis L.), and associated arthropods were evaluated in 2 plantations in the campus of the Federal University of Minas Gerais of the municipality of Montes Claros, state of Minas Gerais. The experimental design was of randomized blocks with 8 replications. The dose of organic fertilization, not residual, recommended for quantity production (number of capitulum/plant) and quality (tenor of total flavonoids) of marigolds is 6 kg/m2, however one must be attentive the attack of aphids, as this dosage favors them, as well as other arthropods, as they cause direct and indirect losses in the production of marigolds.
