Abstract
The aim of this study is to analyse a set of contemporary poetic picturebooks published in Portugal and Brazil in order to identify the characteristics of this type of publications and to reflect upon the specificities of the text-illustration-support relationship in the creation of the poetic suggestion, which distinguishes lyric picturebooks from narrative picturebooks. At the same time, the study presents the actual panorama of lyrical picturebooks, in Portugal and Brazil, in terms of creation and research, highlighting its importance in the editorial landscape of both countries.
