Features of 20th-century Mozambican poetry

Abstract

This paper presents an overview of Mozambican poetry during the 20th century, highlighting some significant moments in the literature of that African country (in the colonial and national phases). It discusses the literary purposes of writers who produced their work in the colonial and national phases, seeking to situate them within the scope of the cultural resistance that marked the last years of the colonization of Mozambique, trying to trace the paths of Mozambican poetry in its pre-independence and early post-independence years.
