War, Law and History: some Reflections upon the Ibero-American Independences and its Discourses

Abstract

The aim of this article is to discuss the connections between war, law and history as political tools in the Ibero-american independences. It is based on Clément Thibaud's analysis focused on Nueva Granada and Venezuela, but tries to expand the same argument to the history of Brazil.
