The purpose of this study was to verify the neuropsychomotor development and the necessity of stimulation, correlating the neurological pathology diagnosis to the physioterapeutic indication at the moment of hospital discharging. Cases studied were 27 patients with partial recovery and newborn anoxy diagnosis assisted in 1988 at the Newborn Intensive Care Unit of the University Hospital in Santa Maria-RS. The newborns were evaluated according to neuroevolutive approach during domiciliary visits to 10 patients. The results showed the necessity of physiotherapeutic intervation on cases of newborn anoxy.
