OBJECTIVE: To validate the content and applicability of the assessment protocol for patients with skin conditions, considering clinical, mental and spiritual dimensions. METHODS: The Delphi method was used for validation, with seven nurse specialists as judges. The following qualitative evaluation and quantitative measures were used: mean content validity indices, agreement rate and Spearman's rank correlation coefficient. RESULTS: In regard to the agreement rate in phase one, two parts of the protocol attained the quality cut-off point of 0.9, and in phase two, three parts needed revision. The mean content validity rate reached 0.6 in phase one and 0.9 in phase two, with variability of 30% falling to 10%. The value of the agreement rate in phase one was identical to that of content validity, with variability of 40%. In phase two, it reached 0.8 with a variation of 20%. CONCLUSION: The instrument was validated and its applicability is feasible.
