Through the development of digital technologies, operations such as to "cut", "copy" and "paste" became colloquial; a pattern that establishes a new way to deal with visual information. Emphasizing the inter-relations between collage, technological innovation and mass culture, this article suggests some possibilities of bringing up to date the poetics of fragment in contemporary art production.
