The aim of this article is to present relevant international jusrisprudence involving NGOs and environment in a systematic way. Therefore, it seeks to identify examples of cases taken to international instances. The reasearch considered sentences and decisions as an example of the potential and limitation of the strategy used by an increasing number of individuals and organizations in making use of judicial (Interamerican Court of Human Rights, European Court of Human Rights, European Tribunal of Justice and International Court of Justice) and quasi-judicial organs (United Nations Human Rights Committee), as an initial contribution to those interested in this issue and an incentive for future studies that could complement it.
