SGB information integration in a SIG, aiming at the realization of the SIRGAS vertical system

There are several problems related to the realization of a Brazilian Fundamental Vertical Network (BFVN) linked to a Global Height System (GHS). Difficulties come from different factors like: pre-analysis and integration of field data lines; choice nodes and loops from spirit leveling, aiming at determining level differences - these steps are still developed in an old fashioned way based on operator intervention and decision in each step; lack of gravity information associated to leveling; Vertical Datum inconsistent with a GHS. Taking into account these aspects and aiming at overcoming the problem related to the choice and computation of leveling loops of the network to be adjusted it was developed a Geographic Information System (GIS) was developed as a tool for computation and decision. The focus is the optimal treatment of the referred steps. The GIS allows nodes identification, as well as the choice of lines, loops and the best network configuration; the level differences with integration of gravity information are allowed. The output can be done by geopotential numbers. This GIS seems to be an adequate tool for integration of the BFVN to one GHS.
