Open-access Mineral fertilizers for dry beans: II - Effects of N, P, K,liming and a mixture containing sulfur and micro-nutrients on "terra-roxa-misturada" soils

Seven experiments were conducted on "terra-roxa-misturada" areas of the State of São Paulo to study the effects of several fertilizer treatments on dry beans (Phaseolus vulgarisL.). Phosphorus increased the yields in all of the experiments, nitrogen, in five, and potassium, in none of them. The addition of a mixture containing sulfur and micro-nutrients (Zn, Cu, B and Mo) to a NPK fertilizer induced insignificant yield increases in four localities. Although not significantly, liming depressed the yields in all of the experiments.
