Eight experiments were conducted on "terra-roxa" soils of the State of São Paulo to study the effects of several fertilizer treatments on dry beans (Phaseolus vulgaris L.). Phosphorus increased significantly the yields in three cases and potassium, in one. Nitrogen, sulfur and a mixture of micro-nutrients (Zn, Cu, B and Mo) induced no significant yield increases.
