Geostatistics applied to environmental and agricultural sciences

Comitê Editorial / Bragantia

PRESENTATION

Relevant contributions to Brazilian agriculture such as those related to plant cultivation at cerrado or to selection of new cultivars from many species of economic importance were published on Bragantia's issues over its 70 years of existence.

Aiming the promotion of modern and thriving worldwide research in agriculture and environment, Bragantia publishes a special issue: Geostatistics Applied to Environmental and Agricultural Sciences.

The focus given by the authors, far from exhausting the subject, demonstrates that geostatistical techniques have the ability of describing phenomena of diverse nature and with a broad scope. Seventeen papers show different approaches to studying spatial and temporal variability of environmental and agricultural parameters. The studies published herein show spatial and, or, temporal components that are essential to a full understanding of many environmental and agricultural processes.

Bragantia Editorial Board would like to thank authors, scientific editors and reviewers for their efforts in writing, organizing, selecting and reviewing the manuscripts. We are hopeful that this Bragantia special issue will effectively contribute to the dissemination of geostatistics as an integrating tool at different fields of science.
