Open-access Nitrogen application for rice grown on clay bottom land

The response of irrigated rice to nitrogen application (ammonium sulfhate) in the furrows at planting time or as top dressing parceled out at various intervale, was studied. The experiment was carried out on a soil of the serie Dourada at the Pindamonhangaba Agr. Exp. Sta. Nitrogen application induced a great response. Applied aa top dressing gave a greater response than furrow application. No difference could be noticed between one application or parceling out the same amount of nitrogen at various intervals.
