A body: mapping the trajetories of life from people with sequels caused by stroke

Abstract

This research was based on the corporal perception of people with stroke sequels, mapping the relation between the conceptions of deficiency on the territory, the ways for care and bodies production related to their daily actions. In the interventions context, it was sought do a short clipping, presenting a body conception, and here, with the comprehension as a process molded by the lived experiences. And more, some observations were presented about the stroke, the contemporary Occupational Therapy and the model of Family Health Strategy. The base of this research was a qualitative study developed by the cartography and the Body Map Storytelling. Two people linked to Family Health Strategy Program from Santa Maria/RS were the object of the study, where was realized an intervention with the construction of Body Map Storytelling, with the intention to identify how the subject perceive itself with the body marked by the deficiency, and what this perception influences the common days of this people. With this research was possible to contribute to produce a better life of this subjects in their territory and it was able to see how the pathology could means an interruption, but also, provide the opening for invention and the affirmation of new ways of existing.
