The present rehearsal analyzes the process of construction of the pedagogic theories of the Physical Education in Brazil, seeking demonstrate how these theories reflect the conception and the meaning body human engendered in modern society. The text presents the pedagogic theories that, in the field of the Physical Education, are placed in a critical perspective in relation to the uses and meanings attributed by the capitalist society to the corporal practices. And, finally, through this discussion, there's a possibility of breaking the modern vision of body, contemplating on the challenges that this transition places for Education and Physical Education.
