Registers and representation of everyday life: popular music in history classrooms

Alternative languages have been used as an important didactic resource for History learning. Among these languages, popular music has its space as an instrument that reveals registers of everyday life according to the vision of authors who observe the social context in which they live. The social representations of authors and interpreters will help transform spontaneous concepts into scientific concepts, because as registers, they are evidences, rests that the past left behind. They make historical comprehension easier for students through the empathy established between these and the people who lived in other historical contexts.
