Work and education: what do the classified ads indicate?

The present paper has as objective to identify the occupations that constitute object of classified ads of work and job offers, their relations to with the distribution of employed population and the educational and other requirements expressly demanded. Several theoretical perspectives were examined about the relations between work and education, being emphasized the functions of the latter. The ads examined were published by the largest circulation newspaper of the Federal District, during one week. Among the results, the secondary importance of the formal education stands out, implicit in other requirements demanded. The feminine sex and previous experience are very frequent demands, suggesting women and youths as vulnerable groups. The search seems to address more trainable than trained people.
