Was Otlet an entrepreneur or a visionary? What is in a name?

The major understanding extracted from published works in the domain of Information Science seems to converge in the sense that the entrepreneur role played by Paul Otlet prevails over the visionary one. Mainly focused on his ability to foresee the Internet as a succedaneum of the Universal Library, the discussion uses to cross the frequently fuzzy boundaries of Information Science. This essay started from an Isabelle Rieusset-Lemarié paper and tries to capture new lights in the Michel Foucault, Norberto Bobbio, Hannah Arendt and Pierre Bourdieu's works that may aggregate some contributions to other classical papers in our field. Its presupposition, according to the author's view of point, points out to the possibility of new readings about the double role played by the great Belgian social scientist.
