Teachers' conceptions and practices on environmental education in a public school

The data and analyses that will be presented in this paper come out from an investigation related to Environmental Education projects carried out in a public school, aiming to investigate conceptions and practices developed by teachers who declare to do such actions. Data was taken through documental analysis, semi-structured interviews and observation. Teachers' conceptions on Environmental Education advise them, in a certain way, the way how they interpret the goals conferred to it and the kind of practices they used to reach them. In the investigation carried out, it was noticed that these conceptions and practices were of behavior nature, focused the problem resolution in a pragmatic way, turning out to be limited in the development of Environmental Education activities through projects.
