In this article we intend to examine a qualitative process of textual analysis. A cycle of three elements is presented: unitizing, categorizing and communicating. Arguments are put forward to support the idea that this cycle is a process of emergence of new understandings based on self-organization. A metaphor, comparing this analysis with "a storm of light" is presented, intending to show how the emergence of new comprehensions occurs in the analytical process, reaching new forms of order through chaos and disorder.
