Morphological analysis of urban spaces in river basins: analyzing the surroundings of Dilúvio River in Porto Alegre

This paper presents some reflections on the qualification strategies of the Dilúvio River Basin, a high density area in the Metropolitan Region of Porto Alegre. We used the urban analysis method based on the contributions of city perception developed by Kevin Lynch, seeking to highlight, in three demarcated stretches along the river’s margins, critical situations regarding conflicts between the population and the environment. At the end, we argue that there must be integration between the recovery of the watercourse and its connection with the city’s everyday life.
