SUMMARY Fourteen samples of drinking water taken from wells and reservatories responsible for the supplying of Potirendaba - city - state of São Paulo were tested. Of the analysed samples 35,7% proved not to have the necessary features to be considered as proper water for human consumers. Some points of contamination were also detected and some measures of control were suggested as well.
