Individual, subject and epidemiology

Individual, subject and epidemiology tries to maintain the thesis about the necessity of including the subject as a category of thought in the field of the actual epidemiology and signs psychoanalysis as a science able to offer meaningful contributions for this enterprise. Contextualizes social, epistemological and ideologically the course of individual and subject since Descartes`Philosophy till the birth of epidemiology and psychoanalysis, in the 19th century. Affirms that epidemiology must operate a radical transformation in its theoretical and methodological model and cease to be a statistical and assistant instrument for public health and for medical practice. It must, also, incorporate to its object of attention - human beings in-group - the new ways of living contemporaneously, exceeding the "specific human populations", "sick" and "non-sick" concepts.
