Contemporary literacies and Bakhtinian architectonics

ABSTRACT

Contemporary literacy brought up new challenging discussion matters to Bakhtin´s theories, mainly to what concerns the Discourse Genres theory. This paper aims at rescuing the Architectonics concept - in / of the Circle - rethinking such concept within Modernity complex context. Along the (un)finished theoretical path trailed all through this article, the concept is presented - as a means of illustrating the discussion - as a powerful category for methodological analysis, as it enlarges the possibilities of examining digital utterances /texts and the correspondent contemporary literacies related to them, once the Architectonics concept might be considered more flexible and broaden than other proposed analytical theories. Therefore, the present paper proposes to relate Genres and architectonics when approaching utterances in the digital context.
