Estrutura socioeconômica e homicídios intencionais contra jovens nas metrópoles brasileiras

Youth is a problematic stage of the life cycle, in which the transition to maturity is mediated by the economic and institutional conditions that allow or block entry into the adult world. This path implies differential exposure of young people to violence. Socioeconomic Structure and Intentional Homicides against Young People in Brazilian Metropolises aims to explain the dynamics of violence against and among young people in Brazilian metropolises. Using mono and multi-causal models, we verified that the variation in the rate of intentional homicides against this portion of the population responds to the demand for drugs, the supply of firearms, public social support, and control and socioeconomic deprivation.
