abstract
This essay will discuss how urban environments affect the feeling of fear and people’s quality of life. This feeling has been an important component of urban life in large Brazilian and Latin American urban centers. This will be a reflection on some possibilities of dealing with this problem. Specifically, we will deal with urban redevelopment and revitalization interventions.
