Education in health and elderly women: promoting of political, social conquests and in health

This study brings a qualitative approach about the Education in Health and it has as study object the description of the you know and practices, adopted by the senior women subject of the actions of Education in Health in the Program Third Age in Action (PTIA), belonging to the Nucleus of Research and Academical Extension for the Third Age (NUPEUTI) of the Federal University of Piauí (UFPI). The investigation had as objectives: to know the wisdom and the senior woman's practices due to the actions of Education in Health that they make possible autonomy conquests and citizenship; to discuss that forms the members of the research they live them you know acquired through the actions of Education in Health that they favor autonomy conquests and citizenship. The data were contained in three analysis categories. The first refers the senior woman's participation in the public politics, resells citizenship concepts; the second category embraces the social and the senior woman's insert and the third category points out the senior woman and the subjects of health. The study shows that the senior woman is capable to learn and to act.
