The creation of Doutor Dório Silva Hospital and the configuration of positions for nurses

It is socio-historical research with a dialectical approach, which aims at analyzing the configuration of positions for nurses at Dr. Dório Silva Hospital (HDDS). The purposes traced in this study were to describe the historical background preceding the creation of HDDS and to analyze how the configuration of job offers for nurses took place at this hospital. The primary sources of this study were the testimony of three nurses and a doctor and documents from the HDDS, Public Health State Institute and Serra Residents Association's records. The findings were discussed under the light of Gramsci's concepts. The large number of positions offered in configuration, valued ideological, historical and political aspects established by the fights of this class, class that used to fight for inverting the hegemonic health model.
