This fac-simile mentions an article of Rosaly Rodrigues Taborda's authorship, teacher of the Anna Nery School of Nurses, published in the Annaes of Nursing Journal, in 1934. This document emphasizes the preoccupying situation that the tuberculosis imposes to us. In this context, the author standes out the important performance of the nurse for remaining more time next to the sick person and, therefore, is that one that is more accessible to the patient's "confidences and lamentations". The author also makes a distinction between the cares to the hospitalized patient (disciplinarian environment) and the patient in their domicile, scenery where the nurses must be more affectionate and compassionate to conquer the confidence of the patient. It relates that, in such a way, the nurse would have to use what has to be called "persuasive psycotherapy". This ability was divided in "rational" (that one applied to the patient) and "sentimental" (whose target is the family). It informs that among the attributes of the persuasive psycotherapy are: patience, sincerity, attention, affability, indulgence, firmness and goodness. If on the other hand the "psycotherapy", already has some time is not part of the craft of the nurse, for another one, such attributes continues, still today, to deserve importance as significant qualities for that one who intends to be as such.
