Profile of the carrier of chronic injury of skin: basing the self-perception about quality of life

This is a study about the quality of life of the patients with chronic injuries of skin. The specific objective was to analyze the profile of the carriers of chronic injuries to base them self-perception about quality of life. Prospective, observational study, with model of intervention and quantitative analysis. The WHOQOL-bref questionnaire was applied in the period of six months to a composed population of 40 individuals that had frequented during six months the doctor's office of nursing of a public hospital and had kept its preserved nutritional and cognitive conditions. The results were: 75% are customers above 51 years; 55% are men, 70% live alone, 52.5% have the first cycle of basic education; 67.5% do not work and 32.5% do not have any type of income and 90% possess color TV. One does not possess bathroom in the house, two do not have refrigerator and 4 do not have any kind of TV. It was conclude that the doctor's office is frequented by people with financial limitations. That strengthens the importance of to verify the self-perception about quality of life from the understanding of the determinative socioeconomics of the studied group.
