Nature and space as scopes for aesthetic experience: new understanding of the relationship human being - environment

Human being's perception of nature and of the inhabited space is marked by imagination, affectivity, memory and aesthetic sensibility. The meaning of aesthetic experience is present in the buildings of the inhabited place as well as in the sight of preserved environments. In the present paper we propose a reflective way that makes evident this aesthetic need of mankind, focusing it in the categories of natural and daily spaces as scopes of life experience. We consider the possible meanings of aesthetic theory for environmental education. Thus we start at the recovery of theoretical references of phenomenology and of aesthetic philosophy that include Merleau-Ponty, Bachelard, Dufrenne, and Quintás.
