Personal archives and social networks: Twitter built as historical document

ABSTRACT

This text aims to discuss the implications of Twitter, constructed to be a historical document. To that end, we will base the arguments on the discussions about public and personal archives, as well as the new demands of the digital sphere, in which we understand that these data are of a personal in nature, but become public on Twitter. It is understood that the data given to the platform need to be archived to be historical documents. Thus, we sought to demonstrate how a Twitter archive is constructed for research in history and ways of analysis, by building the evidence from the episode of attacks on the headquarters of the Three Powers, on January 8, 2023.
